About C-LAB
Despite a strong legal framework like the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO Act), thousands of children continue to face sexual abuse in homes, schools, institutions, and communities. Recognising the growing number of cases and the challenges faced by child victims in navigating through the complex justice system, the 2020 POCSO Rules introduced the concept of “Support Person.”
A trained professional appointed by the Child Welfare Committee, the Support Person has an important role to play in helping child victims and their families understand and engage with the legal process, ensuring access to psychosocial support, and facilitating rehabilitation and reintegration.
The Certificate Course on Child Protection for Support Person has been designed precisely with the intention of timely empowerment of Support Persons with specialised knowledge, skills, and sensitivity.
